Seeking to restore his appearance, he summons a prominent surgeon, who has a complicated past with Sardonicus's wife. Set in the late 19th century in the fictional land of Gorslava, the film explores themes of greed, sadism, and the quest for redemption. Sardonicus is not only desperate to regain his former self but also reveals a cruel and sadistic nature as he terrorizes those around him, including his wife and servants.
